New Durham University collaboration on ‘Negotiating landscapes of rights‘ to start in November 2020

Negotiating Landscapes of Rights is an exciting new collaboration involving archaeologists, lawyers, historians and geographers, and case studies from different countries. Supported by the Institute of Advanced Study at Durham University this interdisciplinary project will examine the negotiation of rights around common resources.

As part of this work Inherit Director, Dr Chris Dalglish, will take up a fellowship at Durham University, bringing to the table our expertise on relationships between communities and land in Scotland. Starting November 2020, we will be looking at how communities are approaching conservation and how this ties in with the sustainable development of rural places.
